Most popular website dedicated to BMX culture in Poland with over 110 000 unique users each year. Until 2014 the unattractive look of the website has been a serious limitation to its popularity and development. It did not represent the spirit and aesthetics of BMX culture. Also the information architecture became a serious obstacle for the users while exploring their favourite discussion board. Our task was as simple as it gets: “make it bold, make it usable, help us improve our business”.
First thing we did was the analysis of user flow, content structure and the overview of general look & feel. We explored users' expectations and real needs then went to search for the best solutions from around the world. The result was the new information architecture and our recommendations for the content.

We planned and designed new features that provided users with more useful information and encouraged them to explore the site even more. Thanks to that the bounce rate dropped by 58%, and the average time user spends on bmx.pl went up by 57% - all without any additional advertising.
